New does not always mean glitch-free

Only a few hours in Las Vegas for the Digital Signage Expo and I was taking in some of the new digital eye candy on a walk along the strip to meet up with an old colleague.

A gigantic deployment of LED panel technology over a custom 3D texture mapped content was recently installed at Caesars Palace. I was impressed with the execution as I have an idea how complex the content creation would be. Just as I was about to grab a picture when the content loop broke and (though tricky to see in my photo) you can see the system windows, code and even the mouse pointer as someone was attempting recovery. All in full view of the strip at about 5 pm local time.

Certainly an operation gap on how to handle failures.
